Kenneth Martin Follett, (born 5 June 1949) is a Welsh author of thrillers and historical novels who has sold more than 160 million copies of his works. Many of his books have achieved high ranking on best seller lists. For example, in the US, many reached the number 1 position on the New York Times Best Seller list, including Edge of Eternity, Fall of Giants, A Dangerous Fortune, The Key to Rebecca, Lie Down with Lions, Triple, Winter of the World, and World Without End.

Yellaphant mentioned in his blog, 2When I got Ken Follett's Pillars of the Earth, I was excited. The story started out lukewarm for me. But as the pages wore on, my spirits began to falter. By the time I was half way through, I hated it. HATED. IT. THIS was a worldwide classic? THIS was everyone's favorite book? THIS? even worse, "Pillars of the Earth" is just about a babillion pages long. That bitch is longer than the Bible. And it's just about as engaging as watching my dog lick his own ass. Every night before bed I would pick up that book before bed and power through. And every night I would fall asleep mid-sentence. The next night I'd pick up where I left off on the page and have no idea what was going on because I'd zoned out three pages before the previous night. How was I ever going to finish this goddamned book if I had to re-read the same five pages every single night just to figure out what in the hell was going on?! Worst of all? Ken Follett is a shitty writer."

"Typical day is that no supervisor is willing to help you learn the job. Once you get your 2 days of training (no matter what position) you are left with questions than answers. You will not be given a manual or employee handbook, so don’t bother asking for one. Human Resources is a joke and rude. They will misdirect you if you get any direction at all. The company is about the bottom line. No one else matters. And just to be aware, OVERTIME IS MANDATORY with 6 hrs On Saturdays. If you fail to comply, you will get written up for every infraction. The rate system in any position is unattainable. You will also get written up for that too. Write ups happen every Wednesday and you are expected to sign, (by law you have the right not to) or they will hold it against you. JUST DON’T WORK HERE, there are other places that at least care about just a little more than this one."

Also they require mandatory OT during the week. There is no integrity. Management consistently lies, and gets caught lying. We’ve learned to not trust anything they say anymore. Talked bad about executives and glad they were let go. From the way certain people are treated, it’s not a healthy environment and management has no idea what’s going on."
