Follett Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback
Kenneth Martin Follett, (born 5 June 1949) is a Welsh author of thrillers and historical novels who has sold more than 160 million copies of his works. Many of his books have achieved high ranking on best seller lists. For example, in the US, many reached the number 1 position on the New York Times Best Seller list, including Edge of Eternity, Fall of Giants, A Dangerous Fortune, The Key to Rebecca, Lie Down with Lions, Triple, Winter of the World, and World Without End.
Yellaphant mentioned in his blog, 2When I got Ken Follett's Pillars of the Earth, I was excited. The story started out lukewarm for me. But as the pages wore on, my spirits began to falter. By the time I was half way through, I hated it. HATED. IT. THIS was a worldwide classic? THIS was everyone's favorite book? THIS? even worse, "Pillars of the Earth" is just about a babillion pages long. That bitch is longer than the Bible. And it's just about as engaging as watching my dog lick his own ass. Every night before bed I would pick up that book before bed and power through. And every night I would fall asleep mid-sentence. The next night I'd pick up where I left off on the page and have no idea what was going on because I'd zoned out three pages before the previous night. How was I ever going to finish this goddamned book if I had to re-read the same five pages every single night just to figure out what in the hell was going on?! Worst of all? Ken Follett is a shitty writer."

Home office support is non-existent and if you do get someone to help they usually are not very nice. Sub group coordinator (Former Employee) says"I worked there for almost 5 years and the whole time I was there management and employees seemed and acted like 6th graders. If you have a health problem company and employees will ride you extra hard causing more health problems hopeing you will just go away or quit. It's a union shop whit representatives who go hunting with management and usually won't stand up for you .The end of your shift and going homeYou have to come back tomorrow and put up with it all over again"
Production Worker (Current Employee) says"This place is horrible to work for since follett took over baker and taylor. They dont value their employees demand overtime always and if you cant do overtime your pushed for it. Most of the supervisors dobt back their team up and the managers are horrible. Racist company I've ever saw...Health insuranceEverything else"
Supervisor - Product Support (Former Employee) says"The company could care less about the employees. They treat you like a chair or desk. They understaffed my team which caused both angry customers and staff"
Shift Leader/Manager (Former Employee) says"This place was one of my most favorite places to work but unfortunately the management is completely unprofessional. This place severely underplays their employees, and has absolutely 0 oppertunity for growth. Working under starbucks was the best but follett is the worst company to work for. They are unreliable, unresponsive and will attempt to trap you by lying about your performance if you put them as a reference"
Retail Sales Associate (Former Employee) says"Worst place to work ever. I would never recommend this company to anyone. They do not pay fairly or value their employees or their employees' time. Very unprofessional."
CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE (Former Employee) says"One minute your told not to worry of lay off then they lay you off. Doesnt matter if you are a good worker. Obviously they have favorites. Work hard and not appreciated."
Cajera y Vendedora (Former Employee) says"they dont like to treat workers right, it seems that you have to pay in bad work environment the money you got from them, when i worked there , the computers were totally obsolete and always get us in trouble specially on the high season... the school that worked with them end up their contract"
Warehouse Team Member (Former Employee) says"Typical day is that no supervisor is willing to help you learn the job. Once you get your 2 days of training (no matter what position) you are left with questions than answers. You will not be given a manual or employee handbook, so don’t bother asking for one. Human Resources is a joke and rude. They will misdirect you if you get any direction at all. The company is about the bottom line. No one else matters. And just to be aware, OVERTIME IS MANDATORY with 6 hrs On Saturdays. If you fail to comply, you will get written up for every infraction. The rate system in any position is unattainable. You will also get written up for that too. Write ups happen every Wednesday and you are expected to sign, (by law you have the right not to) or they will hold it against you. JUST DON’T WORK HERE, there are other places that at least care about just a little more than this one."
Book Processing Support (Former Employee) says"This was probably the worst company i have ever worked for. Always on mandatory overtime. Always had to start an hour early if i wanted to get out as soon as possible at the end of the day. The supervisor seemed intimidating. It doesn’t matter how long you stay here, this job will literally suck the life out of you. And lastly, this job is certainly NOT worth the benefits or your mental health! Look elsewhere. You’ll be better off that way"
Warehouse (Current Employee) says"Extremely demanding schedule! They lie about how much they require of its employees during the interviews. You will be working 6 days per week 75% of the year. Also they require mandatory OT during the week. There is no integrity. Management consistently lies, and gets caught lying. We’ve learned to not trust anything they say anymore. Cannot keep new employees. Old employees are dropping like flies."
Management (Former Employee) says"Upper management of departments and store managers and store director are all poorly trained at their jobs. They create a terrible work environment. Do not waste your time working here, you will regret it. People that work their HR department seem to be trained badly also. Too bad Stanford has a contract with this terrible company and people."
Customer Service (Former Employee) says"I’ve worked for this company for two years and no recognition or promotion, or raised while the manager and supervisors abused their position doing nothing while you do there jobs."
Laser Machine Operator & Manufacturing Associate (Former Employee) says"Too much favorites. Old place been around awhile not what used to be. Workers calling mangers at home talking about other workers. Not everyone treated the same"
Specialist (Former Employee) says"Direct supervisor made her staff clean out the closet for an entire week, then fired the person right after. Manager was not supportive and cut communication with members of team. Talked bad about executives and glad they were let go. From the way certain people are treated, it’s not a healthy environment and management has no idea what’s going on."
Sales Associate (Former Employee) says"I worked here during the summer and fall rush and it was awful. The management lacked proper training on how to handle the rush. Orders were not delivered in a timely manner and the co-workers were super shady and mean to the new people. Pay people a wage that they can live on."
PC Technician (Former Employee) says"Not a good place to work. Low pay and horrible fellow employees. Bosses are terrible at their jobs. Worked with many people who came to work drunk or high."
Picker (Former Employee) says"Youll see. Hard to explain. Management is doing inappropriate things and a lot of belittling certain races. Very unlikely to get a raise or advance unless youre willing to do "strange things". Very hot warehouse."
Book stocker (Former Employee) says"Dont work here. This place took a toll on my mental health. They treat you like garbage and expect too much out of you. They favor people and are just outright toxic."
